I wanted to experience local culture and a friend told me to visit the Chamorro Village. I tried their carabao ride and it was very memorable. I’ve never seen a carabao before and they are very friendly animals.
I often look forward on visiting Chamorro Village whenever I’m in Guam. There are always a lot of things to see and food to eat. Plus, it was cheap. Wow! I just feel that life is good whenever I am in this place.
Chamorro Village is a great place where you can eat cheap, good tasting food, buy local souvenirs; or just have fun at night with new faces of both local and foreign people. I suggest everyone to visit this place on Wednesdays. It has always been a BLAST!
The Chamorro Village is open 7 days a week, with its normal restaurants serving Lunch and Dinners (around 7 different restaurants).
However, you should note that the Weekly Fiesta is when the place explodes with action (Wednesday).
Wednesday evening (5PM – Midnight) is when the weekly fiesta is held. Food stands & shops are setup throughout the village. They sell, hundreds of different foods & drinks (from all over Asia/Pacific), jewelry, clothing, tourism-related gifts, etc.
There are also cultural dance & song shows.
Also, on Wednesdays there are rides for the kiddies:
– Carabao Rides
– Super Slides
– Air Trampolines
– Tractor Trolley (more like Riding Lawnmower Trolley ;-))
– and various other kid’s rides.
