I can say that Cocos Island is a challenging dive spot for most divers. This island offers a very different reef from its two different sides. The east side of the island is abundant with shallow hard corals which is ironic to its opposite side.
I’ve been here twice and just a friendly reminder to all divers, about 90% of the time there would be currents so be sure to bring a safety sausage. Plus, these currents goes from east to west so keep the reef on your left while diving.
Cocos Island is one of the more interesting diving spots on Guam because you get a really nice mix of shallow and deep diving. The sandbar extends about 2 miles from the shoreline, and then once you get to the end, it takes a steep drop. It’s quite a change from any of the other diving areas in Guam.
