Best Historical Park in Guam. Guam Historical Park. guam travel, There were 118 sites listed on the U.S. National and 155 on the Guam Registers of Historical Sites. These entire have an ancient history and are all considered as the island’s cultural heritage. Some other historical sites are link to Chamorro legends and culture. Scattered on the whole island are statues, scenic overlooks and historical parks, which mostly are free to public. Listed below are some of the popular sites: Plaza de Espana is located in central Hagatna. It was the same location for the Governor’s Palace during the Spanish occupation. Most of the place was destroyed during the retaking of Guam in World War II, the shelling of Hagatna to be exact. Fort Nuestra Senora de la Soledad was one of those last Spanish Forts that has been constructed in support of the Spanish Galleon trade in 19th Century. Fort Soledad is just sitting on the cliff at the South of Umatac. This site has a commanding view of the Bay and all Ocean approaches. Latte Stone Park has been considered as the pillars on which ancient Chamorro houses were constructed as 500 A.D. This historical site has become a signature of the island and the Northern Marianas Islands which is surely unique.
